Well, maybe. This shot of a Pacific Blue Boeing 737-800 operating as DJ79 from Auckland to Gold Coast was actually the second opportunity this evening. A few minutes before another plane had done exactly the same thing. So I quickly popped my junk 200mm zoom on my camera, set it to manual focus, guessed the exposure (250th at f8, 320 ISO) and waited for the next flight.

Where’s The Flash? This is what happens when you take a photograph expecting the flash to go off, but it doesn’t. Then you wave the camera around, shutter open, until the system decides you have enough light.
